Isabel Becker "Exactamente senza"

Ho dipinto il prototipo: una figura umana, l'ho riprodotto su diverse piante di città usando come contorni le strade più adatte agli orli della figura. Poi sono andata lungo queste strade documentandole soggettivamente con mezzi differenti.
Ho fatto così a Vienna, Madrid, Varsavia, Berlino e Venezia.
Questa esposizione farà vedere i risultati di questo progetto a Berlino e Venezia.

Parte 1
Venezia: Per sette giorni, sempre prima di andare al letto seguivo le calli veneziane lungo i contorni della figura nella pianta della città. I sogni di quelle notti sono la documentazione del lavoro. Perché dovrei fare un video che documenta i miei passi se i sogni stessi sono B-movies perfetti? Sognare è una delle possibilità di essere creativi. E’ un’esagerazione delle cose vissute durante il giorno.
Così non voglio indagare solo il tema della documentazione stessa ma anche il suo mezzo espressivo.
Applicando il testo sulla tela ed il colore nel libro (che in fondo è un rilievo) scambio le proprietà tipiche dei media.

Parte 2
Berlino: Documentavo le strade di Berlino con dieci dipinti astratti che al primo sguardo sembrerebbero uguali, però si scopriranno delle sottili differenze. I titoli dei dipinti si riferiscono a luoghi che ho trovato a Berlino dove si incontrano due strade.
Lo spettatore potrebbe avere un’associazione e anche un’aspettativa in riferimento ai dipinti e le loro titoli che sono un parte importante della sistema portando l’opera a funzionare.

I have drawn a human figure which is the prototype.
I transfer it to several city-maps. I take the street that is closest to the conture of the figure. I drive or walk along the way. I document it subjectively and always different. I did this project in Vienna, Madrid, Warsaw, Berlin and Venice. In this show you will see the results of Berlin and Venice.
Part one
Venice: For 7 days I walked a part of the distance every day before going to sleep. What I dreamt in that night is the “documentation”. Why should I make a video documentating my walk when dreams are perfect B-Movies? Dreaming is one of the possibilities of being creative. It is an exageration of the things I experience during daytime.
I do not only question the topic of documentation itself but also the medium. When putting the text on the canvas and the color into the book (which is in fact a relief) I exchange typical properties of media.
Part two
Berlin: I walked the way and the „documentation“ are abstract paintings. The 10 paintings on the first view seem to be all the same – but then you`ll notice subtile differences. The titles name always exact places where two streets meet- where I have been in Berlin. The viewer might have an association and also expectation of the painting and the title. They are an important part of the system that make the work function.
